RIA with Adobe Flex and AIR
Making most out of the web, in the sense it started with Java Applets and Microsoft ActiveX, but they have some issues due to security and page loading which takes time (Applets). With the transition in the Web, AJAX came into the picture and people used it.
In 2002, Macromedia came with RIA i.e. Rich Internet Applications. It is a combination of flexibility, responsiveness and ease of use both for the Web and Desktop level.
Adobe came with RIA in form of Adobe Flex (http://www.adobe.com/products/flex/) and AIR (http://www.adobe.com/products/air/).
With Flex, it works on MXML i.e. a declarative XML language use to describe the UI and its behavior. One could make the Flex Applications using the Adobe Flex Builder and at the browser side one only needs the Adobe Flash Player and on the Desktop Adobe AIR (both are cross browser and cross-platform respectively).
When one creates the Flash .swf file (which has all the rich UI), when invoked it connects to the Adobe Flash Player -> which in-turns contacts the Web Server where all the business logic is invoked through the set of tags. One could as well call the Web Service methods.
Using Adobe Flex Builder which is very powerful IDE for making Flex applications has suite of controls like Data Grid, Tables, to name a few.
We looked at a very simple application, where in some controls were added to it and .swf file was created. The same code was used in Desktop Application and was deployed.
One more feature, that makes it pain free is packaging. It provided a packaging functionality where Desktop application was packaged and deployed at the system.

BarCamp on Sunday...
I went to BarCamp at IIM,
The crowd was very less as compared to last BarCamp in
Though, I first went to MySpaces.com presentation, though it sounds nice, the presenter presented on the rich API MySpace provide in order to build application. But I guess I was looking much more interesting topic so I quit from there.
By now, it was lunch time, so I went to have lunch. As I said, it takes pro-active nature to get to know people. Hence I met few good people in discussion talks and during lunch hours who are working closely in the domain of my interest and not of my interest as well, but doing cool things. I get to know how people are scaling their applications in order make a mark in the market. All Web 2.0 technologies are not hot piece but some are. There were talks about how Adobe is making use and aggressively marketing its Web 2.0 tools, though they are paid frameworks. People also talking about
Wait a sec, I also got a shirt as well as a souvenir to remember BarCamp the whole year and look forward to participate in it next year… So kudos to all who started this concept and its really worth appreciation….
The Water Horse: Legend of the Deep
So, again this weekend I was forced to watch a movie... nahin...... dosto.. main mazak kaar raha tha.. not forced, but invited... (no.... friends.... i am joking)
I was totally talli (drunk) before watching this movie and after watching I became some what more talli... what a movie is it ... first of all this movie is in English that too with no hot scenes and all cartoon dragon moving here and there, and the little kid running after it to save from not so cruel people, arre bhai saab log dushman nahin hote hain (all people are not enemies)
well it was ok movie worth not watching ... hall was empty and we were bound to keep are legs above the chairs, as if its our theater... one couple was sitting in the row below us, they moved couple of row below .... I told my friends to behave in very gentle man manner, but ....
anyways.. Ashish Bhai, I am again insisting that it was very good movie.. thank u once again... aapkee choice kaa jawaab nahin... hahahhahehehehehehe

BarCamp - the next big thing in Bangalore
So BarCamp is here once again... It will be my second time I will meet my old and new friends all of similar interest. Its the one place where like / unlike minded people meet, share ideas, collaborate and speak together. Yes, there is lot of technology transfer, meeting new people whom you dont know and like to know. But all said, one has to make an initiative. The BarCamp is self less initiative by group of collectives who present their ideas, talk and present some very cool stuff.
Not to forget the very warm and welcoming IIM Bangalore, which host the event, the one of the best place in Bangalore. I just luv it....
What to get to know about in BarCamp. Well if you just browse to the BarCamp 6 you will catch up several interesting topics. If you are technology enthusiast, you could catch up with upcoming and Web 2.0 talks or VoIP or Signal Processing and much more, social networking people could catch up with Future of Social Networking, Marketing, Digital Media all under one roof...
So gear up, get ready and hit the floor... Catch you all at the BarCamp... at IIM Bangalore...

Movie review - Krazzzzzzzzy 4
I was really krazy that i had watch such a idiotic movie. What the movie is all about and these fine actors been portrayed is totally insensible. There is no head and toe to the movie. you really hold your head while watching this movie. people running here and there just for nothing and songs, they suck a lot (some exceptions are there).
well, the movie startup was good and worth watching but as it goes, the story becomes penless (that what i say). well all in the group were cursing me after watching a movie, but hey guys it was a unanimous decision to watch a movie.
well our sponsor Mr. Murali (who understand little bit of Hindi, too was puzzled what he saw) ... don't worry Murali, when you will come a new will be released so that u can take all of us again...!!!
well back to the movie, ya the songs of hotty mumbai babe (is she really a babe!!) aka Rakhi Sawant is hot, then Shah Rukh song was good too… best rest of the movie really sucks man…
well if u have time go and watch a movie, but only when u r not paying for it(same case with me toooooooo .......hahahhahahahhahehehehe)

One Two Three ... Movie
So it was Saturday, a night to enjoy and looking for company to spent with. My friend Ashish called me for chit – chat, and I proposed to go for a movie. I usually not a first day first show buff, but go to a movie by looking at the rating / comments and then decide to watch it. So we met at Innovative Multiplex, were all shows were open to watch English / Hindi. I was proposing for Shaurya, a serious movie, may be it tried to give audience a lesson. But all we decided to watch One Two Three… I don’t know what made me to change my decision, well I would give credit to our friendship. But I decided my decision wasn’t that bad. What is the reason?
Let me start from background, One Two Three… a comic puzzler (that would I say), was given two and half rating by national daily. Though, it said the comedy wasn’t so funny, but I would say not to use your brain while you watch this kind of movies. But at the same time, you expect a good performance from the actors too. Though I would give my vote to Paresh Rawal and Suniel Shetty. Though some actors were terribly bad such as Esha Deol, what the hell she was doing in the movie with that pathetic South Indian melodrama in the movie. Sameera Reddy is hot though.
The thing that catches me in the movie is the Left – Right Funda. I thought to use that in daily life, but I guess it looks good in movie. It catches laughter of the audience.
One more thing, the Papa ( I don’t remember that actors name) was also cool and his one of the senior assistant was too good. He was leading in the climax.
Though slang language is used a lot. I guess that is something, I see a change in movies. But on the contrary people don’t mind at certain level.
So, it’s a movie to watch (but only with friends, it will give you immense pleasure). But I would recommend leaving your brain at home (psychologically). Then you will be able to enjoy the movie to fullest.

A trip to Shravanabelagola
Its was early 3 am chilly morning..., when I got up, called up Murali and Dhwani (my friends) to get up… Those were lazy bumps J. Well Dhwani is big lazy so her soon-to be husband got my phone. By 4 am I was ready and driver also came, and hence my journey started. Murali was waiting for me at the Marathahalli Bridge and we went ahead. Then we took Dhwani and Bhavik, who took lot of time to get into the car. Not because they were fat, but bcoz they took lot of time (girls oh! my God, they are just time eaters). Then we picked Sachin and started moving ahead. It was very cool breeze out in Bangalore early morning and we had refreshing start. The driver Ajay was nice but too fast guy. He drives well.
Ya, people in the car were feeling lazy but Sachin and I were talking – talking like anything…thus keeping driver a good company (I guess). Also songs were going good in the car. There was a bummer at the NH-48, which connects to Pune as well. There was a huge traffic jam.
After couple of hours i.e. by 9 am, we reached a place which was driver’s home town, we had tea / coffee and also pressure release. Sachin was bit naughtier; he grabbed my photo while I was doing. Sachin dude, I will take the revenge. J
Next we had first stop at Shravanabelagola. We went to a temple named Gometeshwar temple. I tell you people, it was a paradise. There we saw beautiful sculptures, and most importantly, there was staircases (steep) around 500-600 in number. We climbed some of them, but we were mostly on the steep rock climbing it. It was fun. We almost stopped 5-6 times while climbing. Then we saw Shri Gometeshwar temple. There were lots of Gujus and not to forget Dhwani and Bhavik too are Gujus. I was yelling in some good Guju accent… Su Chalu Shee.. and to my astonishment few aunties say that I was good.
Then we saw a mammoth statue of Shree Gometeshwar ji. It was very tall.
We all bowed our heads and prayed for good future. Then we went to a cave size way in which different disciples of Shree Gometeshwar ji. To my astonishment, all have the surname as Shinkara. Then we had lots of photo shoots (which we popularly call as orkutting) and as I described its a heaven. It was a lovely place. We were on huge mountains and looking deep down with awesome natural view. There was one more temple with staircases, but we thought to skip it. We were dancing fondling on large mountains, taking pictures from different angles. It was lovely experience and to be remembered always. Then we started coming / climbing down. We were not coming from regular staircases, but climbing down the mountains. It was such an experience of trekking.
Then we looked a girl (woman), who looks quiet similar and hot, the one we met while I was in CDAC, Pune. She got nice figure ;-)
Then finally we came down and had coconut water. Sachin again got fooled and spent more on it.
From there we started our journey again to Belur temple. It was also a nice temple. The things we find about those temples was that, it was ruined and statues were stolen / destroyed by attackers. That was bad, but we can’t change history. Whatever was left it was eye catching.
There were made with such fine details and were looking too breath taking. The amount of effort and hard – work sculptors put was un-imaginable. There we also saw a pillar, which was standing without any support and amount of science and architecture they have thought at 1117 AD was remarkable. It was centuries old and standing in spite of lots of environment changes. Ya, it was heavy and need no support. We crossed checked it and it was not attached to ground by cement, but just been balanced independently. It was surronded by different temples. It was written that those temples were made by a king who was follower of the Lord Vishnu. We also took some pics there and followed the guide, he was telling about the place, about the . It was an example of fine art. All the work was done on stones (mountain stones) and carved a beautiful piece out of it. Then we also saw a pond, where we could see fishes and tortoises. It was around 1 pm and we were terribly hungry.
There I also tasted jack fruit. It was yellow colored sweet fruit with seed inside. This was my first time I tasted such a thing and it tasted really good. Then we asked Ajay, to take some good place for lunch. He took us to a Restaurant, which was ok looking and service was horrible. For a dish, the service made us wait for 15-20 minutes and one sort of loose out patience when you are very hungry. Well, I don’t like waiting on eating table and neither of us. So we maintained our calm as respectable human beings and waited for food. The food was just ok, though hot.
So after food around 2.10 pm we went to HalaBedu, it was such a nice one with gardens and well upkeep. The thing which separates it was, it has breath taking gardens together with lake. It was such a serene atmosphere, that one could stay there for ages. Sachin told me that it was a capital once upon a time. Well, we could see that some of the statues were missing / stolen from the temple. This was a common thing which we find out there. We were constantly nagging at those who did all this. Secondly, we saw that and came to know, while that place was attacked, some sculptors were making statues and wasn’t completed, hence they were also preserved for viewing, but the people who were making those, were killed there. I must appreciate the management, who still preserved those and maintained the beauty of that place with cleanliness and planting flowers.
Murali meanwhile was missing his camera a lot, told me several times, why he is not with his camera. I can understand his feelings. He is a great photographer, and only when he is with his camera. Meanwhile, he was enjoying my camera taking the photographs.
From there, were on our return journey, but wait, there is one more temple yet to come. It was Adi Chincha Nagri. It was newly built temple and looks great though. We were all very much tired till the end of the day, but the music in car was rocking, especially the Billo song (from Goal), in which me and Dhwani were dancing like hell, well she was a Billo (oh! I am sorry, a Billi… ) J
I don’t know, when I promised these guys for an ice-cream, but we had ice-cream session in between, when we were returning. Though, I enjoyed it as well.
While we were returning, we faced tremendous traffic jam at Bangalore border. It was same NH-48 highway, which sucks big time. We enjoyed a lot and had lots of fun. Photos are coming on its way. So keep looking… !!!!
Funny incidents on the trip:
As car was driven very fast and dangerous turns came, I was caught holding Sachin's leg. Though I was not feared, I was worried about Sachin, he could fell down!!!
Murali funny hindi quotes, Cow ghass khaa raha hai!!!
Sachin was caught bending down at Murali's (dont make me say, what?). Guys atleast control in public places...!!!! hahahahehhehee
I was singing Himesh's songs... Dude I tell you, I sing real good... People say that if I am not into software, I could be a singer ... and making nation proud.. hahahehehehehee
hmmmmmmmmmmm, what else... oh! not to forget, Murali asked the driver, when we reached Shravanabelagola, can we go up? Driver said yes, but not on car!!! hahahahahehehehehehe
